General information
This scheme approves third-party software applications of SAP 2005 (including RdSAP 2005). This software calculates the dwelling emission rate for the purposes of demonstrating compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations. New versions of approved software also calculate the asset rating and produce the Energy Performance Certificate and Recommendations Report.

Submitted software will be passed through a series of tests. If the software passes these tests, a recommendation will be made to CLG for approval. CLG will make the final decision and, if appropriate, will send an official note to the vendor informing them that the software has been approved.
